Tulips provide a splash of spring colour in dazzling shades. Different flower forms add to this variety, with lily-, fringed-, parrot- and peony-flowered forms.

Daffodils are one of the most popular and cheery heralds of spring. Planted in September, they spend several months developing roots before the flowers burst forth, usually between February and May.

Hesperis (Sweet rocket) is a deliciously scented biennial flower with white or pale lilac flowers in loose clusters and are attractive to bees and other beneficial insects. They make a wonderful natural addition to bouquets in Early Summer.

The Sweet William is a traditional cottage garden flower coming in a range of flower colours and forms. It's technically a short-lived perennial, but is usually grown as a biennial, with seeds sown in summer for flowering plants the following year in late spring. Most flowers are beautifully scented and last well in the vase.

Alliums are a great addition to any bouquet with their showy flowerheads in shades of blue, purple, white and pink, bringing globes of colour in spring and early summer. They are good cut flowers and the dried flowerheads give a long lasting display.

Ranunculus (Buttercup) boast beautiful, bright coloured flowers with ruffled petals on straight stems. Ranunculus flowers are true showstoppers and make fabulous blooms as fresh cut flowers for early summer bouquet arrangements.

Romantically named annuals, 'Love-in-a-mist' appears to be set in a cloudy mist of delicate foliage around the blue, pink or white varieties of flower. These are a cottage garden favourite and make lovely cut flowers.

Beautiful scented Sweet Peas are native to Sicily, Cyprus and Southern Italy. A Sicilian monk is said to have sent the first sweet pea seeds to England in the 17th century and they have been popular ever since! Modern varieties of sweet peas have large flowers, in a range of beautiful, reds, purples, pinks, whites, and deep purple/crimson. These scented flowers on are on long stems that make the best cut flowers.

Delicate lacy umbels of pure white flowers, often used in bridal bouquets and makes a lovely cut flower and filler too.

Cornflowers are often associated with the countryside but are very valuable and interesting flowers. Cornflowers as cut flowers look wonderful in classic bouquets, but also look great in wedding bouquets.

The flattened heads of Achillea flowers are held high on tall stems, hovering above, and contrasting beautifully with, the ferny grey-green foliage. A long-flowering perennial it makes a lovely cut flower in a wide range of colours, including bright pinks.

Geums are wonderful long lasting material for cut flower design. Their papery flowers and graceful stems make for a very welcomed addition to any floral arrangement. 

Malope-Lavatera have large, trumpet shaped silky flowers in rich magenta-pink, white and pale pinks. They are a long-lasting cut flower and bloom for months.

Rudbeckias are stunning compact annuals and perennials that are some of the last to fade in the season with a flowering time of midsummer all the way to October. They come in a lovely range of burnt colours.

Equally good as a fresh flower, these daisy-like papery blooms will last indefinitely once dried retaining their colour and becoming a great addition to dried flower arrangements during winter months.

Sunflowers are the classic feel-good flower and make excellent cut flowers in a wide range of colours.

Not often seen in many florist’s shops, Cosmos are beautiful and produce an abundance of cut flowers. With their delicate, airy blooms and long stems, they make a romantic addition to any bouquet.

Antirrhinums or Snapdragons give a good solid spike effect to any bouquet. Available in many colours including bi-colours and pastel shades.

Dahlias are incredibly diverse, with colours including white, yellow, orange, red and purple of varying shades. Dahlia flower structure also varies considerably, including simple star arrangements, complex spherical balls and flowers resembling waterlily blooms.
