Kindness and the gift of flowers

A man giving a lady flowers

Flowers are such a beautiful way to let someone know you are thinking of them

I am convinced that if everyone grew flowers, the world would be a kinder place
— Frances Palmer, renowned ceramicist and dahlia lover from "Life in the Studio"

This sentence jumped out at me when I read Frances Palmer's beautiful book, which combines flowers, ceramics and food in a wonderful way. What is it about flowers and giving them, that symbolises such a pure act of kindness?

It cannot be a coincidence that flowers and their gift are used to mark so many of life's significant events, both happy and sad. From bridal flowers to the gift of flowers to a loved one, blooms can express joy, celebration and love but also provide solace and comfort at a tough time.

Flowers are such a beautiful way to let someone know you are thinking of them. The fleeting beauty of a bouquet of flowers, to be admired and enjoyed while they last, cannot be underestimated. They bring a little slice of colour and nature into our homes and their scent will pervade a room.

I have seen flowers work their magic many times when people see and react to our flowers in a positive and joyous way.

Flowers really do have the power to enhance our lives and it is a privilege to grow them for you.
