Many people are becoming aware of the detrimental impact of the global trade in cut flowers on the environment and people.

At Saxon Gate Flowers we ensure that our flowers are grown in a way that respects nature & the environment.

Seeds and young plants are grown in peat free compost, reducing the impact of peat extraction on vulnerable habitats. We strongly believe that there is no justification to use peat products in horticulture and we use excellent peat free composts to grow healthy, happy plants.

To encourage all wildlife, pesticides and other chemicals are not used if at all possible. We love the healthy buzz of bees & pollinators on a hot summers day. Organically approved solutions will be used but only if necessary.

We minimise single use plastics by using alternative products which are recyclable or compostable, including our packaging, wherever possible.

Traditional floral foam is a single use plastic and contains chemicals which can pollute the environment. We use sustainable alternatives which are much kinder to the planet.
